CONSTEL English, a telecourse of Continuing Studies via Television,
is implemented by the People's Television Network in cooperation with
the Department
of Education, Philippine Normal University, University of the
Philippines College of
Education, De La Salle University, and the Foundation for Upgrading the
Standards of
Education
The telecourse, which aims to upgrade the teaching competence of
teachers of English, consists of 45 one-hour telelessons divided into
six segments (Listening, Reading,Speaking, Writing, Grammar, and
Literature) with Language Testing integrated into each segment. The
telelessons are accompanied by teaching support materials for classroom
enrichment and supplementary activities. It is expected to directly
benefit elementary, secondary and tertiary teachers of English in both
public and private schools as well as teachers using English as medium
of instruction. Students, professionals, and the general public are also
expected to benefit from this project.
