PRO-DORP Bags TAYO Tilt
PRO-DORP Team of  Cantilan National High School, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur was adjudged as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations of the Philippine which was held on December 9, 2010 at the Heroes Hall of Malacanang Palace with President Benigno S. Aquino III as the guest of Honor.

The effort of  the Department of Education to significantly reduce drop-out rates among high school students is paying off as 56 secondary schools across the country have reported zero incidence of students quitting school.

An unprecedented zero drop-out rate from first year to fourth year high school has been observed in at least four provinces nationwide as the Department of Education intensifies its efforts to address the occurrence of children dropping out of school.
       

Zero Drop Out Rate in 21 Schools in Four Provinces
THE Department of Education (DepEd) yesterday said four provinces have recorded an unprecedented zero dropout rate from first year to fourth year high shool. These are Zamboanga Sibugay, Cotabato, Southern Leyte and Romblon.
         

DepEd addresses dropout rate through Open High School Program -- Lapus
MANILA, Oct. 14 (PNA) -- To address the growing dropout rate among high school students, Education Secretary Jesli Lapus said on Wednesday the Department of Education (DepEd) has intensified its Open High School Program (OHSP). These were developed by superintendent-eligible Jesus L. Huenda of the Bureau of Secondary Education aiming to help learners hone their analytical thinking skills in dealing with integers and number patterns, respectively, at the same time fun, interesting and challenging.
 

A school that opens doors for drop-outs
The education department works to lower drop-out rates through a more flexible schooling program. Seventeen year-old Christine Joy Claveria had to stop going to school last year due to her sudden pregnancy. Ordinarily, such a condition would have hindered her from finishing her high school education. Luckily, it did not.
